How do I rent equipment?

Is there a minimum rental period?

Our minimum rental is one day. You are billed per night the equipment is kept — weekends (Saturday and Sunday nights) are always excluded. Through our Tectonic Flexibility Pricing Tier, you automatically receive discounts for longer rentals: 20% off all days from day 3, and 30% off all days from day 7 onward.

Do I need experience to operate the equipment?

Yes — our equipment should only be operated by individuals who are trained and competent. For the compact track loader, you must have prior experience operating tracked machines. We provide a walk-around and safety briefing at pickup, but we do not provide operator training.

Can I extend my rental period?

Absolutely. Just give us a call before your rental period ends and we'll extend it for you, subject to availability. You'll continue at your current rate.

What happens if the equipment breaks down during my rental?

Contact us immediately. If the breakdown is due to normal use or a mechanical issue, we'll arrange a repair or replacement at no charge. Downtime caused by renter misuse or negligence is the renter's responsibility.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept e-Transfer, Visa, Mastercard, and cash. Contractor accounts with approved credit can be invoiced with net-30 terms.

For homeowner rentals, payment is due at the time of booking. Contractor accounts with approved credit receive invoicing with net-30 terms.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. What you see on our website is what you pay. Rental rates, delivery fees, and TPP costs are all quoted upfront before you commit. The only additional charges would be for damage beyond normal wear and tear, or late returns.

Do you offer discounts for longer rentals?

Yes — our Tectonic Flexibility Pricing Tier automatically applies a flat discount to your entire rental based on total rental days. Rentals of 3–6 days get 20% off all days. Rentals of 7+ days get 30% off all days. We bill per night kept — weekend nights (Saturday & Sunday) are never counted. If you finish early, your final invoice is adjusted to the rate tier you actually used. Contractor accounts also receive additional volume discounts.

How does the Tectonic Flexibility Pricing Tier work?

You pay per night kept, and weekend nights (Saturday & Sunday) are never billed. Your discount is based on the total number of rental days: 1–2 days = base rate, 3–6 days = 20% off all days, 7+ days = 30% off all days. The discount applies to your entire rental, not just the extra days. For example, pickup Monday and return the following Monday = 5 rental days at $250/day: 5 × $250 = $1,250 − 20% ($250) = $1,000. If you return early, we adjust your invoice to match the tier you actually used.

Do weekends count as rental days?

No. We bill per night kept, and weekend nights (Saturday and Sunday) are always excluded. If you pick up equipment on Friday and return it Monday, that's 1 rental day (Friday night only). You keep the equipment over the weekend at no extra charge.

Question 12

Do you deliver equipment?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We deliver throughout Durham Region and the GTA. Delivery is quoted based on distance from our Pickering yard, starting at $150 for locations within 25 km. Return pickup is included in the delivery fee.

Question 13

Can I pick up the equipment myself?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can pick up from our Pickering yard during business hours (Mon–Fri: 7AM–6PM, Sat: 8AM–2PM). You'll need an appropriate trailer for transport. We'll load the equipment and provide a walk-around.

What areas do you serve?

We serve the entire Durham Region — including Pickering, Oshawa, Ajax, Whitby, Brooklin, and Bowmanville — as well as the Greater Toronto Area. Contact us with your site address for an exact delivery quote.

Do I need insurance to rent equipment?

Accepted Answer

You have three options: purchase our Tectonic Protection Plan (TPP) which caps your liability at 10% of repair or replacement cost, provide proof of your own insurance that covers rented equipment, or accept full financial responsibility for any damage or loss.

What does the Tectonic Protection Plan (TPP) cover?

TPP covers accidental damage, cosmetic damage, and theft. It does not cover intentional misuse, improper maintenance, tires/tracks/windows, excessive cleaning, or operating outside the agreed scope. See our Protection Plan page for the full breakdown.

How much does TPP cost?

TPP is 13% of your rental total. For example, on a $4,500 monthly rental, TPP would be $585. If damage occurs, your out-of-pocket is capped at 10% of the repair or replacement cost — compared to potentially tens of thousands without it.

Question 18

Is TPP the same as insurance?

Accepted Answer

No. TPP is a Loss Damage Waiver, not an insurance policy. It works alongside your existing business or personal insurance to reduce your out-of-pocket costs. It does not cover liability for property damage, personal injury, or loss of equipment use.

What if I have my own insurance?

You can waive TPP by providing written proof that your insurance covers rented equipment for the full replacement value. We'll keep this on file for your account.

What happens if equipment is damaged?

Accepted Answer

With TPP: Your responsibility is limited to 10% of the repair cost. Without TPP: You are responsible for the full repair cost. We will notify you within 48 hours of any damage assessment.

What about theft?

With TPP: Your responsibility is limited to 10% of the replacement cost, provided you file a police report within 24 hours. Without TPP: You are responsible for the full replacement value of the equipment plus rental fees up to the date of loss.
